Saint-Gobain Gyproc, market leader in the building construction space has partnered with India’s largest professional networking platform, Apna.co to reduce the skill gap and help increase the hiring of a skilled workforce efficiently in India. Through this collaboration, Saint-Gobain Gyproc in association with Apna.co will implement effective hiring of skilled labour across India, in a variety of professions, including drywalls, and false ceilings works, to empower more than 8,000 partners of the Saint-Gobain Gyproc family (contractors and distributors).
Recently, there has been a significant increase in the need for skilled professionals, with almost 4,000 jobs being advertised on Apna.co on a daily basis. Between September 1 and October 27 of this year, around 200,000 new jobs were added in the construction and manufacturing industry.
Being a leader in the construction space, the company has continuously been working to close the gap between the need and the current availability of skilled human resources through its three-month residential skill training programmes. At present, Saint-Gobain Gyproc has around 8000 business partners in India and with this joint initiative the company is looking forward to create 2000 more job opportunities for skilled professionals across the country.
