Owensboro-based Luke Roberts launched innovative TerraGlow custom low-voltage outdoor lighting solutions recently. Roberts has always been at the forefront of new ideas and technologies, and he is now all set to bring this innovation to the community, as a licensed electrician.
He has an electrical background and has always been passionate about the trade. He currently works full-time for Westerfield Electric. He was inspired to launch TerraGlow while working on a project for his parents.
“I did a side job for my parents one day and really enjoyed it,” Roberts said. “It’s an art form, if you will. It’s almost like designing a painting for a customer.”
Roberts begins each project with a consultation and then works with them to create a custom design plan. He said he can install decorative lighting in landscaping, pools, patios, decks, or any outdoor area clients want to “brighten up.”
“It’s always cool to turn on the lights and let your customers see the result,” he said. “I enjoy seeing their faces light up when they see the lights for the first time. I enjoy the reaction.”
TerraGlow offers different lighting systems. Typically, he said, customers will want ones that rely on a timer, but he also offers a smart lighting system that can be controlled by phone. Customers can also change the light colors to align with a holiday or season.
“There are lots of choices and opportunities,” he said. “It’s a completely customized approach. No two systems are the same.”
Roberts was born and raised in the Thruston area and graduated from Daviess County High School. He takes pride in being from the community and appreciates the continued support.
“The community response has been great,” he said. “I’m still trying to get my name out there. This is a great community. There aren’t many contractors out here offering just this service.”
