Recently, the Surat chapters of The Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) and the Institute of Indian Interior Designers (IIID) jointly organized an evening dedicated to honoring the architectural luminary Raj Rewal. In this gathering, Rewal generously shared his insights with the local design community.
Through a captivating presentation, Rewal elucidated his design philosophy, which artfully merges modernity with tradition. He delved into the conceptual underpinnings of his seminal projects, such as the iconic Hall of Nations and Hall of Industries (1972 International Trade Fair, New Delhi), Parliament Library in New Delhi, Nehru Pavilion at Pragati Maidan New Delhi, and the Asian Games Village in New Delhi, among others.
Adding to the occasion’s significance, a three-volume book set chronicling Rewal’s architectural journey was unveiled, enriching the collective understanding of his prolific contributions to the field. (Source: TOI) (Picture courtesy :Wikipedia)
